As the end of regular season play comes to an end, professional golfers all around the world are making their last sprint to the finish at the Wyndham Championship 2008 in Greensboro, NC. With an old course being brought back after over 30 years, no players are at a clear advantage.


The clear favorite this year is defending Wyndham Champion, Brandt Snedeker of the United States. The Tennessee native earned his first PGA Tour victory at the Wyndham Championship just over a year ago and shows no signs of slumping from that spot, even with the changing of course. Snedeker has already ventured into uncharted territory with his impressive third place showing at the Masters back in April, and since then racking up numerous top-10 finishes.

Some of the other early favorites in the tournament include Paul Casey of England and Ken Duke of the United States. Casey’s tie for fifteenth at the Championship this past week and two top 10 finishes in two majors (British Open- tied for seventh and the Bridgestone Invitational- tied for eighth) marks him as contender in this field of over 150 players.

Duke has been playing pretty well lately, showing that he deservers a shot at the FedEx Cup. With top 15 finishes at the Championship this past week and at the RBC Canadian Open, this American is poised to make some noise in Greensboro.

The new course, designed by the infamous Donald Ross is known for his course designs at Pinehurst No.2 in North Carolina and Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, FL and over 600 other courses
