Wire To Wire Win For Strange In Celtic Manor Wales Open

Scott Strange has won the 2008 Celtic Manor Wales Open at the Twenty Ten Course, he has never been headed since posting his course record 63 on Thursday.

The 31 year old from Perth Australia finished with a final round 64, seven under par to end up with a 72 hole score of 262, 22 under par.

This was Strange’s maiden PGA European Tour win his previous best result being joint second behind New Zealander Mark Brown in the Johnnie Walker Classic at DLF Golf and Country Club in New Delhi.

Robert Karlsson who won this event in 2006 finished four strokes back in second after also carding a 64, Karlsson shot an amazing eight birdies in the first 12 holes.

Six times a winner on the PGA European Tour, Karlsson is currently the most consistent golfer on the tour having finished third in the previous three events.
