The US Open goes inot a play off as Tiger Woods managed to hole on the 18th to force a 18 hole play off with Rocco Mediate. They will now be a scramble for US Open golf tickets

Tiger Woods produced a sparkling birdie on the 18th hole in the final round of the US Open this morning to draw level with Rocco Mediate on 1-under-par and force a play-off at Torrey Pines.

Woods bogeyed on the 13th and 15th holes to slip back to even-par alongside Briton Lee Westwood as Mediate approached his final two holes at 1-under the card in San Diego.

The lead changed hands several times between the trio of leaders during a see-sawing final round at the challenging Torrey Pines course.

Woods and Westwood went toe-to-toe on the green at the 18th to clinch a spot in the play-off with Mediate watching on nervously in the clubhouse.

Westwood’s putt drifted wide to slip out of contention, but Woods kept his cool to sink a difficult putt and take his place in the play-off.
