Florentina Parker had today’s best result for the home side beating Meghan Bolger 6&4 and Krystle Caithness had a 2&1 victory over Mina Harigae, but it was too little too late.

This is the sixth straight win for the Americans in the biennial match.

2008, saw the format changed from two day to a three-day competition, with three foursomes and three fourball matches on each of the first two days, and eight singles matches on the final day, but the end result remained the same.

Thoughts now turn to 2010 and the Essex County Club, Manchester, Massachusetts in the hope that GB & I can get that elusive win.

Questions will one again be asked, and the movement for emulating the Ryder Cup selection and including Europe in the team from this side of the Atlantic will no doubt have their say.
