United States Lead After Day One of Curtis Cup
The United States have opened up a 4-2 lead over Great Britain and Ireland 4-2 after the first day of the 2008 Curtis Cup on the St Andrews Old Course.
This is the 35th time the biennial women’s amateur match has been staged, it is the equivalent the men’s Walker Cup.
Last time the American team lost was 1996, and today they won both the morning foursomes and the afternoon fourballs 2-1.
