Tiger Woods poised to win us open after rollercoaster ride

Tiger Woods is poised to win the US Open after finishing round 3 top of the pile. Tiger has never failed to win a major win leading at beginning of the final round, and he has led 13 times before!!

Tiger entertained the huge galleries watching him with some breathtaking golf. Tiger’s long game was not at his best, but his recovery play and short play was reminiscent of the days of Seve Ballesteros.
Tiger’s round was a rollercoaster it started badly again with another double bogey 6 on the first, and also he got further bogeys on 4, 12 and 15, this was the bad tiger. Then there was the sublime tiger, the superhuman tiger, the tiger which must make other golfers want to give up as he does things you would not think possible. Tiger turned his round around with 2 amazing eagles in the last 6 holes and 2 birdies too in his round. It left Tiger overall 70 1 under for the day and 3 under for the tournament.

His nearest rival is Lee Westwood from England. Lee is looking to become the first European since Tony Jacklin in 1970 to lift the US Open Crown. Lee is one shot off Tiger, he also hit a 70 today but it was a more controlled affair with one bogey, and 2 birdies. Lee Westwood will be looking to continue his constant form into round 4 and hope that the erratic Woods makes more birdies than eagles.
Phil Mickelson’s title quest ended with quadruple-bogey nine at the 13th, he twice failed to chip onto the green twice, and then he 3 putted!

All in all it sets us up for an amazing final days play, US Open TV Coverage will be provide by NBC in the US and by Sky Sports here in the UK
