Tiger Woods is Winner of US Open Golf 2008
Tiger Woods finally won his 14th Major Title when he won the US Open after the first sudden death play off.
The Epic US Open Tournament was finally settled after the 91st hole. Rocco Mediate pushed Woods to the limit.
The 18th Hole Play off was a close fought affiar, the 15th Hole was a classic wood played one of the best shots I have ever seen as he delibrately hooked his fairway bunker shot within a few yards from the pin. Rocco had a difficult birdie putt which he held, and then woods missed his easier putt. This gave Rocco a one shot lead, which he kept till the 18th. On the 18th Rocco had a chance to putt for the championship he did not take his chance and Woods got a birdie to force a sudden death play off.
On the first extra hole woods got a par as Rocco bogeyed. So Woods wins one of the best US Opens in recent times. Playing in great pain woods played some magic golf but Rocco and Lee Westwood both made woods fight for his 14th title.
