The TOUR Championship preview / tee times

The PGA TOUR culminates its FedEx Cup playoff championship this weekend, with The TOUR Championship at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.

Or, as some are calling it, the Vijay Singh Victory Walk.

“The Big Fijian” won two of the three prior Cup playoff events, and has a near insurmountable lead for the FedEx Cup and its $10 million top prize. Singh holds a 10,600 point lead over second-place Camilo Villegas, meaning that as long as Singh posts a 72-hole score and doesn’t finish last in the 30-player field while watching Villegas win, he will succeed Tiger Woods as FedEx Cup champion. The two will play together for the first 36 holes.

Ten of the 12 members from last week’s victorious U.S. Ryder Cup team are in the field, with the exception of J.B. Holmes and Boo Weekley (sorry fans, no “Ridin’ The Horsey” this week). Sergio Garcia is the lone European Team member playing at East Lake. He is paired with Jim Furyk, fourth in the FedEx Cup points, today and tomorrow.
