The Players Championship takes place this Thursday and it is commonly regarded as the “fifth Major” as all the top US players take part. It takes place at magnificant TPC Sawgrass golf course in Florida. The 17th hole is one of the most difficult holes in golf. The Par 3 Green is on an island surrounded by water. Tiger Woods is still out injured so world number 2 Phil Mickelson will be hoping he can defend his title this week.
This tournament is not a great stomping ground for Europeans, the last to win was Sandy Lyle way back in 1987, but 21 will tee off on Thursday hoping to follow the Scot and win at Sawgrass.
