Stanford leads but ochoa is well positioned after day 2 of Safeway international
Day 2 of the Saferway international and Angela Stanford still tops the leaderboard after an up and down round. She had worst possible start with a bogey on hole 2, but she finished the outward 9 2 under par after 3 birdies, her second 9 holes were not much better, it started well with birdies on the first 3 holes, but she also had two bogeys, leaving her 3 under par for the day.
World Number one and current title holder Lorena Ochoa faired better today with a 5 under par round which closed the gap at the top to just one stroke, Jee Young Lee is a further 2 shorts back and Swedish star Annika Sorenstam had a bogey free 5 under par round to bring her 5 shots off the lead.
The round of the day came from Cristie Kerr who carded a 8 under par 64 which included 8 birdies and no bogeys, If Cristie can maintain this form in the last 2 rounds she might be able to get herself into contention, she is currently 7 shots off the lead at -6
