SAS Masters Golf winner is Peter Hanson

Sweden’s Peter Hanson won a thrilling SAS Masters 2008 in Stockholm today, he battled cold wet and windy conditions to record the first home winner for 10 years.
Hanson won at the Arlandastad Golf Course, with a 9 under par 72 hole score beating compatriot Pelle Edberg and England’s Nick Dougherty by one shot who ended 8 under.
Peter Hanson takes the SAS Masters Winners Prize Money of €266,600 his first tour win for 3 years when he won his only other tour event in spain.
Dougherty finished for the 2nd year, but the 26 year old nearly did not start the 4th round he tweaked his back overnight and a gym session made it worse.
Dougherty’s Ryder Cup hopes are not over yet, he is 14th in the standings after this result as he pocketed 132,000 euro, he will be looking for similar results in the final two tournaments to secure his Ryder Cup berth at Valhalla.
Hanson also after this win has a chance of making the Ryder Cup team as he is now in 14th Place and he will play the KLM Open in Holland next week.
Martin Kaymer will also think he has a good chance of making the Ryder Cup team he is now only 250 euro behind the 10th Spot, the next two weeks will be very interesting.
Chris Wood completed his first Pro Tournament with a respectable tied 18th finish. Wood will be able to continue his development as he has invites to the KLM Open and the Jonnie Walker at Gleneagles before he plays at the British Masters at the Belfry in September.
