Carl Pettersson produced a phenomenal course record second round of 61 in the Wyndham Championship at the Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro NC.

Combined with his first round 64, Pettersson’s 36 hole 15 under par total of 125 equals the PGA Tour record.

Don’t let the nationality fool you though Pettersson may be Swedish however he was raised locally attending high school in Greensboro, played collegiately at North Carolina State.

Pettersson’S 9 under par second round was amazing he carded a total of 11 birdies and but for a pair of bogeys on the 7th and 15th he may have recorded a magical 59.

Three strokes back in second place is American Garrett Willis who is also playing exceptionally good golf having recorded 64, 64 in his first two rounds.

A further shot behind in third place is another American Scott McCarron who has shot 65, 64.
