Pettersson wins 2008 Wyndham Championship
Sweden’s Carl Pettersson has won the Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, N.C.
Pettersson posted a four round total of 259, six strokes inside the previous championship record, his final round 2 under par 68 put him on -21 a comfortable two shots ahead of runner up Scott McCarron.
This is Pettersson’s third PGA Tour victory and he collected a nice $900,000 pay check.
Rich Beem shot 7 under par to finish in third place on 17 under but not the lowest score of the day, that honour went to J.J. Henry who carded 8 under par and moved up from 24th to tie for 4th on -16 with Scotland’s Martin Laird who shot 7 under.
