Sweden’s Carl Pettersson has maintained his lead in the 2008 Wyndham Championship at Sedgefield Country Club, Greensboro, N.C.

Pettersson shot a 4 under par 66 in the third round for a 54 hole total of 191, 19 under par, the round included an eagle at the fifth hole.

American Scott McCarron closed the gap at the top leaderboard slightly his bogey free 6 under par round has moved him to just two strokes behind Pettersson.

Briny Baird had the lowest round of the day his 8 under par 62 puts him 13 under for the tournament in a tie for third place with fellow Americans Kevin Streelman and Garrett Willis.

Seven golfers are a further two shots behind on 11 under par currently sharing sixth place they include Tim Clark of South Africa.
