Nilsson still has Saint-Omer Open lead despite double bogey
Christian Nilsson still has the lead in the 2008 Saint-Omer Open presented by Neuflize OBC despite a double bogey on the par 3 17th.
Nillsson from Karlstad in Sweden played a steady round today playing the first ten holes at level par then two birdies in quick succession on the 11th and 12th pulled him away from the field four more pars followed before disaster struck at the 191 yard par three 17th where a double bogey five undid the good work.
Luckily Nillsson was unshaken by the blip and he finished with a birdie on the 18th for a round of 70, which puts him four under after 54 holes, he takes a two stroke cushion into the final day.
The rest of the field is headed by England’s Robert Coles and France’s Francois Delamontagne on -2, Coles shot the best round of the day a five under 66 which contained seven birdies and might have been even better but for a double bogey on the 12th. Delamontagne enjoyed an error free round of 67, 4 under par.
Nicolas Vanhootegem of Belgium and Welshman Liam Bond are a further stroke behind in fourth.
