McGinley Shoots Seven Under To Lead 2008 BMW PGA Championship
Paul McGinley has carded a fabulous seven under par 65 today at Wentworth in the opening round of the 2008 BMW PGA Championship.
After a steady front nine with a pair of birdies the Irishman carded a sensational five more birdies coming home to set a new course record on the Wentworth West Course recently redesigned by Ernie Els.
Swede Robert Karlsson is one stroke behind the leader after a very good 66.
Marcus Fraser completes the leading three, the Australian carded a five under par 67.
One of the pre-tournament favourites World number nine Vijay Singh was forced to withdraw due to a rib injury, Scotland’s Pete Whiteford took his place in the lineup.
