The Legends Reno-Tahoe Open Golf Tournament 2008 takes place this weekend between Thursday July 31st 2008 to Sunday Aug 3, 2008 at the Montreux Golf and Country Club Reno, Nevada.

The Big news is that ladies golf Michelle Wie has been invited to play, and she had decided to accept the invitation to play against the men rather than compete for the 4th Major of the year the Ladies British Open.
This will be the eighth time that Wie has played on the Mens PGA Tour and the first this season. She has yet to make the cut but she is sure to increase the interest in the tournament. Wie has made the cut in a mens tournament on the Korean Tour in 2006 where she made the cut during the SK Telcom Open.
Wie does not have a PGA Tour Pass but she has taken advantage of the use of sponsors exemptions to play.

The Reno-Tahoe Open is played at the same time as the World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational in Ohio so Michelle Wie’s presence will help draw some attention to the tournament.

The Legends Reno-Tahoe Open 1st Round Tee Times and Groupings have been announced by organisers. Michelle Wie will tee off at 1:55 pm local time, other contenders tee off times include David Duval at 7:34 am, and Steve Elkington at 1:09 pm. They will all be chasing the
Legends Reno-Tahoe Prize Purse of $3 Million and the winners prize money of $540,000
