Kaymer forges ahead in 2008 BMW International Open
Home favourite Martin Kaymer played a magnificent round to go five strokes clear in the 2008 BMW International Open at the Golfclub München Eichenried in Munich, Germany.
Kaymer, who was playing with his countryman and boyhood hero Bernhard Langer, shot a nine under par bogey free 63 to take a commanding lead at the halfway stage of the tournament.
When Kaymer won his first European PGA Tour event the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship he led by six strokes at this point, however he must be a very happy man after such a thrilling round today.
Francois Delamontagne of France and Englishman Benn Barham share second place after finishing today’s round five strokes adrift on eight under par after rounds of 66 and 68.
A group of five players are a further shot behind in fourth position, German Tino Schuster, Sweden’s Henrik Stenson, Singapore’s Mardan Mamat and the English duo of Richard Finch and Graeme Storm.
