Poulter has the bulldog attitude you need for match play, and Clarke is a vet who is playing very well now.

Richie thanks for your comment, I like Poulter and I have a feeling he will thrive on the Ryder Cup Pressure, Matchplay would suit him.
Poulter has made a career decision he played in the US as he needs to play a certain number of matches to retain his US Tour Card. He has been quite candid in saying this is what he is doing. This decision could lose him a Ryder Cup pick, I would have prefered it if he had managed to qualify or at least tried to by playing in UK this weekend.

I think Clarke will get a pick, he has form by winning the KLM and he has ryder cup experience, who can forget how he played last time out, weeks after losing his beloved wife.

Monty I would not pick as he has the experience but he is so off form, that said in Matchplay even if he triple bogeys one hole it is only 1 point lost he can make it up on the next hole.

I undetstand Faldo likes Casey I can see him getting a pick with clarke.

As you say Faldo will get slated whatever he does!!

I hope Clarke gets in not Montgomerie though he totally out of form, Fisher would be my choice.

i'm certainly not up on all the details but in my humble opinion, why pick poulter? he has shown that earning the right to play in the team is not an option he wishes to take and if this is not enough to make him want to compete then he hasn't shown the passion that is needed for the ryder cup. form is one thing but experience is also required and certainly montgomerie and clarke have this, as well as bags of commitment to the cause. but should he leave out a form player to prove a point?
Faldo can't win, he'll be lambasted one way or another, but he should remember, performance can come one week and leave the next, passion and experience don't.
