Poulter has made a career decision he played in the US as he needs to play a certain number of matches to retain his US Tour Card. He has been quite candid in saying this is what he is doing. This decision could lose him a Ryder Cup pick, I would have prefered it if he had managed to qualify or at least tried to by playing in UK this weekend. I think Clarke will get a pick, he has form by winning the KLM and he has ryder cup experience, who can forget how he played last time out, weeks after losing his beloved wife. Monty I would not pick as he has the experience but he is so off form, that said in Matchplay even if he triple bogeys one hole it is only 1 point lost he can make it up on the next hole.
