South African Trevor Immelman is the winner of the masters 2008 ,  he held his nerve on a tense final round.   He hit a 3 over par 75,  he was never really in any danger as his nearest rivals could not mount any serious challenge.   In the last few holes, it was just his own nerves he had to keep in check especially after a double bogey at 16, he kept his nerve and had two putts on 18 to win the masters.  He became the first south african to win the masters since Gary Player

Tiger Woods ended up 2nd 3 shots behind.   Tiger never really clicked over the weekend,  so a second place flatters him a little.
