The little welsh wonder who won the green jacket in 1991. Ian Woosnam is now playing on the Champion Tour ( The PGA Seniors Tour), he played his first tournament at the weekend.
Woosnam was part of the golden era of European golf, together with Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Bernhard Langer and Sandy Lyle, they were born within 12 months of each other and dominated world golf winning all the majors, and they made the European team a force to be reckoned with in the Ryder Cup.
Some career highlights include finishing in the top 10 of the order of merit 13 times. Woosnam was at the peak of his powers in 1991 when he won the US masters and he topped the official golf rankings, and he stayed their for 50 weeks. In total Woosie won 28 events around the world.
