Holmes Takes Lead at Oakland Hills in USPGA Championship
A fine 2 under par 68 has given American J.B. Holmes a one shot lead in the 2008 US PGA Championship at Oakland Hills CC, Michigan.
J.B. (John) Holmes carded 5 birdies and 3 bogey to post a 2 round score of 139, just one under par.
One stroke behind Holmes on level par there is a three way tie for second place, Charlie Wi posted his second even par round while fellow American Ben Curtis and England’s Justin Rose were in fine form both shooting 67, 3 under par to move rapidly up the leaderboard from 41st place.
A few big names missed the cut which was pretty high at 8 over par. Lee Westwood +15 had a nightmare two days, Adam Scott +10, Miguel Angel Jimenez +11 and Trevor Immelman +13 are amongst those not staying for the weekend.
