Glory For Clarke In The KLM Open
Just a week after his 40th birthday Darren Clarke is celebrating again, he has recorded an emphatic 4 shot victory at The KLM Open in Holland.
Clarke will be hoping he has done enough to continue celebrating next weekend when Nick Faldo announces the Ryder Cup Team.
Clarke a native of Dungannon, Northern Ireland, has really enjoyed his four days at the Kennemer G & CC at Zandvoort, he recorded a final round of 66 to finish the tournament on 264, 16 under par.
This is Clarkes second European Tour Win of 2008 the first was the BMW Asian Open in Shanghai back in April.
Second place has gone to Ireland’s Paul McGinley who finished on 12 under par after a final round 64 which included an eagle on the 12th and 5 birdies.
Henrik Stenson of Sweden looked to be coasting to at least a share of second place before dropping shots on the 14th and 18th to end up in third spot on -11. Stenson has something of a bumpy ride in his 2 under par 68 final round with 7 birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey.
