Fisher Reels In 2008 European Open
Ross Fisher has recorded a wire to wire victory in the 2008 European Open at The London Golf Club Ash, Kent, England.
The Englishman carded rounds of 63,68, 69 and 68 for a twenty under par total of 268, the only golfer in the tournament clock up four sub 70 rounds on his way to a €506,392 pay day.
Today’s round of 68 included an eagle three at the fifth hole and birdies at the 13th, 15th and 18th.
This is Fisher’s second European PGA title, his first was the 2007 KLM Open.
Seven strokes behind Fisher in second place was Spaniard Sergio Garcia whose 6 under par 66 was the best round of the day, it moved him up from seventh place.
A further shot adrift on -12 came Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell who shot a one over par 73, his worst round of the week, which can largely be contributed to a double bogey on the par 3 third.
