The fourth and final round of the WGC – Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone in Ohio is set to be a real thriller.

Unless someone comes out of the pack the tournament winner should come from the final two pairings.

Last on the course at 2.10pm are England’s Lee Westwood and Vijay Singh of Fiji who are currently on eight under par along with USA’s Phil Mickelson who tees off ten minutes earlier, Mickelson plays with the Australian Stuart Appleby who is just one stroke behind.

Lee Westwood who hasn’t won in the USA for ten years told reporters:

“It would mean a lot, these are a rung down from the major championships, obviously, but I haven’t won a World Golf Championships, so that’s obviously missing on my C.V., so it would mean a lot, and obviously give me a massive amount of confidence going into next week, too.”

World number two Phil Mickelson had this to say:

“I don’t think all four of us are going to come back to them, so they’re going to have to go make birdies to catch us, I believe.”

Will Mickelson prove correct, the statistics say yes, only one man in the history of the event has come from behind to win on the final day, and he did it an amazing three times, his name will be familiar to you, Tiger Woods, but he’s not here.
