English Rose and Westwood lead the way after day 1 of masters
Justin Rose had another dream start to the US Master after carding a 4 under par 68, fellow brit Lee Westwood also had a great start he concluding the days play with a 3 under par 69.
Rose scored 6 birdies in 8 holes which helped him make his opening 69 which game him a share of the lead after round 1 with South Africa’s Trevor Immelman.
Ian Poulter had a shot to remember for ever on the 16th as he scored a hole in one, he ended in contention at 2 under with a 70. A fantastic start for England with 3 players in the top 6, also veteran Scot Sandy Lyle a ex masters champion had a great day he was 3 under at one stage before finishing level par for the day, See Video of Hole in One on BBC Website
Tiger Woods had a steady start to his US Master campaign, he did not manage one birdie, although he did hit two bogeys on 13 and 14. He chipped in for an Eagle on the 15th, which brough him again to level for the round, and that how he finished off. Tiger Woods ended the day 19th and 4 shots off the lead.
