Darren Clarke Takes Lead In Shanghai
A flawless 5 under par 67 for Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke puts him one shot ahead of the field on -9 in the BMW Asian Open at the Tomson Shanghai Pudong GC, Shanghai, China.
In an immaculate third round Clarke birdied the 2nd, 5th, 10th, 15th and 18th on a day when conditions were ideal for golf.
Overnight co-leader Robert-Jan Derksen of The Netherlands is one shot behind after a 69, Robert Dinwiddie from England is in third after the days best round a 66, he carded 8 birdies and the round may have been even better but for a double bogey 6 on the seventh.
China’s Lian-wei Zhang, who had shared the lead at halfway had a nightmare 76 to drop out of contention.
