The first half of Sunday’s play in the US PGA at Oakland Hills has drawn to a close with the conclusion of the rain disrupted third round. There will be a very short break before the players go out for the fourth round, where they will be in groups off three starting at the first and tenth tees.

Ben Curtis of the United States has taken the lead after shooting a 68 he is 2 under for the tournament.

Leader after the second round J.B. Holmes looked like retaining a share of the lead before dropping a shot on the eighteenth, Holmes had an eagle early on yesterday in his level par round.

Holmes is now tied for second place on one under along side Henrik Stenson of Sweden.

Open Champion Padraig Harrington shot 66 which moved him 22 places up the leaderboard and he sits at one over par sharing fourth place with Sergio Garcia and Charlie Wi.

Bit of a disaster for Justin Rose he had triple bogey on the 11th and double bogey on the 16th in his four over par 74 and is now tied for thirteenth place, mind you the situation may have been a lot worse but for three birdies in his roller coaster of a round.
