Crowne Plaza Invitational latest score
Phil Mickelson who is currently the number 1 fit player on the tour, with the continued absence of Tiger Wood leads the Crowne Plaza invitational at the half round stage. Phil Michelson has a one shot lead as he get to the turn at seven under. His second round contained 4 birdies, but also 2 bogeys.
Matt Kuchar shot up the leaderboard with a six under par 64 which contained 7 birdies and only one bogey.
Mickelson is thought to have five different wedges in his golf bag as well as his putter. He used them to great effect as his short game was fantastic. Mickelson made 11 one putts and he converted 6 sand saves. In total he only needed 25 putts.
Shot Of The Day
The shot of the day goes to Dustin Johnson, he aced the 13th over the water, holing out from 171 yards, this shot took him to par for the tournament, he eventually ended up 2 over and he made the cut.
Round of the Day
The best round in my book came from Geoff Ogilvy. He hit a great 64 which had 7 birdies including 5 in a row and 1 bogey. It would have been even better if he did not hit 2 trees on one hole to card a bogey. The round got him from nearly missing the cut to being in contention.
