Angel Cabrera has taken over at the top of the leaderboard in The Barclays Scottish Open 2008 at the Loch Lomond Golf Club.

The Argentinian carded a three under par 68 to go with his 65 on Thursday, his total of 133 puts him at 9 under par one stroke ahead of Ireland’s Damien McGrane who put together a fine 66 today.

Five golfers sit a further shot back on 7 under par, they are Scotlands own Paul Lawrie, Denmark’s Thomas Björn, Australian Richard Green, overnight leader Thongchai Jaidee of Thailand and Simon Khan of England.

Englishman Robert Dinwiddie, from Barnard Castle in County Durham, is one of six players tied for eighth place, after making a big impact in last months US Open he is looking for a top five finish to book his place in next weeks Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

Phil Mickelson had the second hole in one of the week he aced his tee shot on the 5th, matching Sweden’s Pelle Edberg’s effort at the 17th on Thursday.
