6 way tie after round one of Bank Austria GolfOpen
The rain delayed 2008 Bank Austria GolfOpen presented by Telekom Austria finally got underway today, all be it 24 hours late, after severe storms had made the Fontana Golf Course, Vienna unplayable on Thursday.
The top of the leaderboard is very crowded as six golfers shot seven under par rounds of 64 to share the lead.
The lead is shared by the Swedish pair of Pelle Edberg and Christian Nilsson, Australian Scott Barr, Gary Murphy from Ireland and Indian champion Jeev Milkha Singh but the player that really set the course alight and delighted the crowd was Austrian Martin Wiegele who could easily have been out in front but unfortunately dropped two shots on his closing three holes.
