Having just returned from Valhalla after the Ryder Cup disappointment, the English pair of Lee Westwood and Oliver Wilson and Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell, head to the The Belfry for the 208 Quinn Insurance British Masters which begins on Thursday 25th September.

Westwood is the defending champion, having prevailed last year largely due to a perfect 7 under par 65 in the final round, which saw him first overtake third round leader Mark Foster of then resist the challenge of fellow Ryder Cup player Ian Poulter.

Westwood said:

“It was a great victory last year – I hardly put a foot wrong on the final day. Winning The Quinn Insurance British Masters was a major highlight of the year for me. Now that this year’s event is getting closer, I’m really looking forward to defending my title.”

This strong British Masters field includes Scotland’s Colin Montgomerie, Thomas Björn of Denmark, Northern Ireland’s Darren Clarke, Weshman Phillip Price, Ireland’s Paul McGinley and the Swede Niclas Fasth.
